Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park - Oyster Bay

Updated: May 8, 2022

Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park is an excellent park in Oyster Bay, NY. The main beach park is for residents of the Town of Oyster Bay which is enforced in the Summer. There is a parking lot to the left though, that is not restricted and associated with a public boat ramp and kayak launch. It is across the street from the Waterfront Center there. Further west is another beach area also meant for residents but more calm and secluded. The Waterfront Center is public and offers kayak rentals, sailing rentals and trips on a full size historic sailboat for about $35. They also offer kayak tours in the area. The main beach park is very large and expansive, large boat launches, playgrounds, grassy areas and recreation fields, 2 fishing piers, and beautiful views of the bay. To the right of the park is a yacht club and a marina. The park is not far from downtown Oyster Bay’s restaurants, shops and the historic museum Raynham Hall. The general area also includes Sagamore Hill, and Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary which is where President Theodore Roosevelt is buried.
