This a great park located in Merrick. The park is a converted garbage dump that now has a small animal Zoo with chickens, and goats. Wildlife include foxes as well. There is a kayak launch area to go down a canal. A dock area with a view of Jones Beach and point lookout in the distance. Walking paths that go up the large hills where it is possible to see the Manhattan skyline and other major structures in the area. The elevation here is unique for Long Island especially on the south shore and the fact that the top view is unobstructed adds to its value even more. It is a great large space to explore. Dogs are not allowed though. This park is good for people who don’t want to hike in an area that is very thick with trees.
